I will add a short story, dates, and photos to each of these once I’m able to retrieve them — turning this section into a proper travelogue rather than just a list of pins. In the meantime, what I can say is this: every one of these places has taught me something. Working and traveling across such different corners of the world — from research stations in West Africa to conference halls in Europe, from field sites in Brazil to a new life in the United States — has meant constantly encountering people whose experiences, assumptions, and ways of solving problems look nothing like my own. That exposure has shaped how I think as a scientist just as much as any dataset or model has: it’s taught me to ask better questions, hold my conclusions a little more loosely, and stay curious about perspectives I haven’t considered yet.
